Getting Started

Welcome to Vydexia! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to install, set up, and get the most out of the extension.

Requirements: A Chromium-based browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Brave) and an active Vydexia license key.

Installation

  1. Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for "Vydexia" or use the direct link from your account dashboard.
  2. Click "Add to Chrome" and confirm by clicking "Add extension" in the popup.
  3. The Vydexia icon will appear in your browser toolbar. Click it to open the extension.
  4. Enter your license key to activate Pro features, or continue with the free tier.

Tip: Pin the Vydexia icon to your toolbar for quick access. Click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome, then click the pin next to Vydexia.

Using Vydexia on YouTube

Vydexia works directly on YouTube pages. Here is how to access its features.

On Any YouTube Video

When watching a video, click the "VYD" button that appears on the right side of the page. This opens the Vydexia sidebar with:

  • Video Stats: Real-time views, likes, comments, and engagement rate.
  • SEO Score: Analysis of the video title, description, and tags for search optimisation.
  • Tag Viewer: See all tags used on any video for research and inspiration.
  • Channel Info: Subscriber count, total views, and channel statistics at a glance.

In YouTube Studio

When editing videos in YouTube Studio, Vydexia adds an AI Assistant panel that lets you:

  • Generate optimised titles with click-through rate predictions.
  • Write SEO-friendly descriptions with keywords and calls to action.
  • Get smart tag suggestions based on your video content.
  • Apply suggestions directly to your video with one click.

AI-Powered Features

Vydexia uses AI to help you optimise your content and grow your channel faster.

Title Optimiser

Generate multiple title variations optimised for clicks and SEO. Each suggestion includes a predicted click-through rate score so you can pick the best one.

Description Generator

Create keyword-rich descriptions that help your videos rank in search. The AI includes relevant keywords, timestamps placeholders, and calls to action.

Keyword Research

Get AI-powered keyword suggestions with search volume and competition analysis. Find the terms your audience is searching for.

Thumbnail Analysis

Get AI feedback on your thumbnails including contrast, readability, and click-worthiness scores with suggestions for improvement.

API Keys: AI features require an API key from Claude (Anthropic) or OpenAI. Your key is stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Speed up your workflow with these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Ctrl + Alt + S — Toggle the Vydexia sidebar
  • Ctrl + → / Ctrl + ← — Navigate between tabs

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

  • Extension not appearing on YouTube: Refresh the YouTube page. If the issue persists, go to chrome://extensions, disable and re-enable Vydexia.
  • AI features not working: Check that your API key is entered correctly in the extension settings. Make sure you have available API credits.
  • License key not activating: Ensure you are copying the full key including any dashes. Check that your licence has not expired.
  • Stats not loading: This can happen if YouTube updates its page layout. Check for an extension update or contact support.
